Our client is an expanding Banking Group with solid business performance across its full range business services in Asia (Retail Banking, Private Banking, Corporate & Institutional Banking, Securities / Brokerage). As part of strategic growth, an excellent leadership opportunity has arisen for a Finance professional to lead the function in Financial Reporting and Regulatory Reporting, based in Hong Kong.
The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:
- Report to and support the Hong Kong Finance Leadership team in managing the Financial Reporting and Regulatory Reporting teams.
- Provide oversight and ownership of regulatory reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to the relevant regulators in Hong Kong.
- Define regulatory and financial reporting treatment and requirements, drive execution of regulatory reporting initiatives, new regulatory requests, enhancement of reporting platforms, strategic data sourcing, implementation of consistent change management and governance processes, implementation of strategic initiatives.
- Ensure data integrity and quality, adherence to internal controls and policies, ensure proper control checking, review and reconciliation procedures are in place.
- Team development and management of resources across the organization to maximize effectiveness of the team.
- Take a lead in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of reporting process.
- Present key results to senior management when required.
Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:
- University degree with professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum 15 years relevant experience in financial reporting, regulatory reporting, financial control, finance process transformation.
- Knowledge of IFRS, HKMA and SFC regulatory reporting.
- Industry experience from Banking is a must, ideally with exposure to more than one business areas amongst Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Institutional Banking and / or Private Banking.
- Familiarity to data analytics tools and visualization tools would be highly advantageous.
- Experience in process improvement and system implementation work.
- Team management and Asia working experience are a must.
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English. Cantonese or Mandarin would be beneficial.
