Sr Manager to Associate Director, Audit, Greater China & North Asia, Insurance Group

Our client is a leading Insurance Group with a strong history across the Asia Pacific region in the Life Insurance, Pension and Asset Management businesses.The internal audit function of this Group is known for their well-established structure and framework in the industry and as part of growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Internal Audit professional to join the Group Audit function, based in Hong Kong, covering Greater China & North Asia.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Report to and support the Head of Audit for the Greater China & North Asia regions on audit engagements with particular focus on China.
  • Lead, conduct and / or execute end-to-end audit engagements across the businesses and be responsible for your designated business areas, functions and countries.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on some of the Group-wide topics including business and / or regulatory issues.
  • Assist in annual audit planning, resources scheduling, review risk based audit plans in alignment with business strategy.
  • Provide professional risk management and control views and drive ongoing development of the internal control processes, audit framework and methods.
  • Discuss audit reporting and findings, manage appropriate response on issues raised and ensure post audit reviews are conducted.
  • Assist in the development of data analytics strategy for internal audit.
  • Assist the Audit Committee and Management Team in providing independent assessment on the Company’s internal control, risk management and governance.
  • Identifyand highlightrisk areas for management attention and ensures comprehensiveness of the audit’s risk assessment.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • University degree with relevant professional qualifications in Accounting or Audit.
  • Around 12+ years of audit experience gained from Insurance, Insurtech, Consumer Banking (Bancassurance) or Big 4 Audit experience specialising in Insurance sector.
  • 2LOD Risk Management and Internal Control experience gained from Life Insurance would also be considered.
  • China audit or risk management experience would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Some team supervisory experience would be beneficial.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20-25%.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese (both spoken and written).
